Answers to Your Questions

Where do we play?

Both days of Level Eater 15, plus the Demo Expo, happen at the Co-Prosperity Sphere in Bridgeport, in Chicago. It’s a gallery, a radio station, and an event space. Find it here: The Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 South Morgan Street, Chicago, IL 60608

Do I need to bring a group?

You do not. Individual players are welcome! This is a great time to meet other game players and discover our style of play.

How many people can play?

Each table seats five players, plus your host, who teaches the rules and guides the game during play. Our hosts are experienced game moderators (GMs), eager to make sure every player has a great experience.

Food and drink?

It is a good idea to eat before arriving at the event. We’ll have some snacks available for sale. Marz Brewing sponsors our main event, offering a variety of non-alcoholic and adult beverages on site. Bring cash for snacks and drinks!

How long is the adventure?

We start the game promptly at 7pm and play until 11pm sharp. After that, there are closing ceremonies for prizes as we determine and reveal the outcome of the session’s heroics.

How do I learn to play?

We can teach you! Bring your imagination. A roleplaying game is like a creative conversation, with game rules to provide suspense and resolve what happens to the characters we play. You don’t have to know much in advance — play to find out what happens!

In the Dinosaur Kingdom...

Previously…

The city of Portsbridge, cast out by an ancient nemesis, wanders from world to world. Having defeated a dire, godlike pursuer intent on the city’s destruction, the people of Portsbridge turn their attentions from surviving to thriving — and the journey home.

In our previous event, dozens of players guided their characters on quests to reveal the next worlds that Portsbridge might visit. Along the way, they chose what world to visit next: a realm of lush forests and brilliant beasts.

Thus, this year we embark on quests … in the dinosaur kingdom.

Hints of What’s Ahead…

Through a magical lens, the seers of Portsbridge perceived another world, close enough that our wandering city would reach it. These are the visions we saw of that nearby, fantastical world. This is what awaits us … in the dinosaur kingdom.

Huge beasts, some larger than houses, roam the land. Bright feathers jut from their hides. They reign in this jungle.

The rainy, mossy forest hides ruins sinking into dark, soft soil — the remains of a lost, stone city, mired in loam and vines.

Two-legged figures move through the woods and ruins, leaving four-toed tracks in the dirt. They mostly venture out at night. Mostly.

Stone monuments tower above the forest canopy, capped with the carved faces of giants.

Currents of magic flow from those colossal monuments. Power, untapped. If there are wizards here, we have not perceived them.

In the Primordial language, an etching: “We Once Knew Grandeur.” Painted over it in acid-yellow dye: “The past warns us! Do not go back!”

Ghosts cling to the broken city, but not all who dwell there are dead. Some eke out lives in the ruins. They seek the source of a voice on the wind.

Nomadic peoples roam the land. They never speak. They find and leave items amid the roots of trees, trading with hidden folk they never meet.

A lone Human. Regal. Old. He dwells in a gilded palace at the heart of the ruined city, guarded by dinosaurs and ghosts. He laughs to himself and weeps.

Treasures of the palace depict peoples and animals we do not perceive in the kingdom now—except as bones.

In the blurry edges of the lens, we see what might yet come to pass: Portsbridge verdant in winter. Lush gardens, vines, and rain.
